Well it’s been 3 weeks so far since I took on this new workshop / outlet / learning centre I’ve named ‘The Outpost’, and I’m absolutely loving it! It’s such a cosy little place and a real haven of creativity…my only niggle is the shockingly poor phone signal I get there (O2 clearly don’t have many masts in the area as my son’s and my husband’s phones work fine – they are both on different providers) so I’m considering how I might resolve this problem in the short term until I can change my contract when it expires in Sept…?!

Anyway, apart from that it’s a really great little space and I love people popping in to have a look and a chat and even for prayer, so if you’re passing my way – be brave and poke your head round the door to say hello! You’ll be glad you did! I’m super excited that from 17th May I can officially host indoor creative workshops too for up to 6 people or more from the same household, so I’m busy getting together some ‘Midweek Make’ workshops – things like: Needle felting, Silver & semi-precious gemstone jewellery, Felted soap, natural buttons & toggles, and Silver clay jewellery… If that’s something you might be interested in, keep an eye on my Facebook events page for tickets, or if you have a group of 6 I can set up a private event for you – usually at a discounted price too! So get in touch to discuss ideas!

I’ve been really busy with Forest School since April too, the parent and toddler sessions are going from strength to strength and I’ve had a load of enquiries about my Wild Time Woodland Parties too, which is just great! Getting kids (and their parents) out in the woods for lots forest fun, is such a wonderful thing and I really do enjoy being able to facilitate that!

I’ve also been enjoying the space and time to get making again with my current scoop obsession! A lady on one of my copper forging workshops made a scoop and I felt really inspired to give it a go – having already harboured a bit of a spoon fetish I am know firmly addicted to making scoops! hahaha! Check out my instagram feed for pictures of them, still experimenting with different designs before I ‘mass produce’ but i’m loving the process!

I have set up a ‘Folksy’ shop now too which I just need to populate with my products, so if you can’t make it into The Outpost, you can always buy online soon! Folksy is an alternative to Etsy – which is American based but has a global audience where as Folksy is UK only and supports the UK craft industry and individual makers, one of the main reasons I have made the transfer as I think it’s so important these days to support local or at least UK based sellers and grow our own industries again. I’ll post links on social media once my shop is up and running so if you haven’t already, do like / follow my pages to stay up to date with what I’m doing…it does make a difference to the algorithm and it’s also really encouraging for me when I get new likes and follows for my work and my mission.

thanks for stopping by! 🙂

The Outpost

This is my new workspace / outlet! @ The Hub, Bodiam where I have been resident since April – it has become a really comfortable & cosy space which is just what I was hoping for! I love going to work there and consider myself very blessed to have such a cool place to spend my days!
In ‘The Outpost’ I’m in there Wednesdays to Saturdays, Designing /Making / Repairing / Upcycling all kinds of unique and wonderful things; ranging from jewellery to furniture and everything in between! You can come in and buy some of the handcrafted things I’ve already finished or commission me to do something bespoke for you!?

it also serves as the meeting point for all of my Creative woodland workshops for Adults and the Forest School sessions for children. It’s a really relaxed and chilled space to learn in and from Mid May – once restrictions are lifted, I will also be hosting ‘bijou’ creative courses in here...so watch this space and follow me on Social media as I’ll be posting updates once these things are established!

In the meantime, do come by and say ‘Hello!’ next time you’re passing, if you’re just wanting to have a look inside, maybe in need of prayer or just want to have a quick chat, it would be lovely to see you!!
p.s. they do great food and drink in ‘The Hub’ too…Well worth a visit!!
