Pewter Casting

Pewter has a very rich and interesting history but today, sadly, it is a much under-rated metal alloy. Pewter is a fantastic and very versatile material to work with and can be used in so many different ways to create so many wonderful things….only limited by your imagination! It is endlessly recyclable too, so if you make a mistake you can simply remelt and try again!

We will use 2 different methods of casting and various techniques to finish your pewter keepsakes ready to take home.

So come and have a go…you will not be disappointed!

Copper Forging

Copper is another fascinating and beautiful metal with a rich heritage. It is also endlessly recyclable with very little loss in quality, making it a sustainable choice. It’s warm pinkish sheen and adaptable surface texture and finish, make it a favourite of craftspeople all over the world.

During this workshop, we will upcycle old copper into stunning ‘new’ things of beauty; considering both form and function. We will use a wide range of tools to anneal, cut, shape, form and finish the metal, learning about the processes and techniques employed by craftspeople across the ages.

Taking part in such activities in a woodland environment enhances not only the enjoyment of the process but also the benefits of creativity and learning…this is such a valuable experience and some would argue, a necessary one…so what are you waiting for?!

Primitive Pottery

The use of clay for both decorative and functional items, dates back thousands of years and is essentially the same today as it was back then. However, modern methods and technology make it a very different experience. This workshop will take you back to basics and give you a flavour of the primitive methods our ancestors would have used to harvest, process, shape and then fire clay to turn it into ceramics!

This is an all day workshop and includes lunch around the campfire! You will have the opportunity to make several items and fire them in a wood-fired kiln, where they will hopefully survive and transform into a ceramic for you to take home!

This is a wonderful opportunity to really immerse yourself in an ancient practice and unwind in a beautiful, natural environment for the day…so come and get your hands dirty!!

Vouchers are available for all workshops or for a specific amount which can be used towards the cost of a workshop of your choice…

Ideal as a gift for someone special, maybe to mark a special occasion…maybe you are struggling to find the perfect gift for someone who ‘has it all’ or is really tricky to buy for…so don’t just buy them more ‘stuff’! Treat them to an experience that will enrich and sustain them…something unique and memorable!!

Vouchers can be personalised with a special message and posted or be sent digitally. Please fill out a contact form or give me a call to discuss your requirements.
